Cast Iron Radiators Valves and Fittings

The choice of thermostatic or manual valves for your cast iron radiators is determined with regard to the amount of flexibility you would like to have for your cast iron radiator. A manual valve will allow you to simply turn your traditional radiators on or off. The thermostatic valve allows you to regulate the temperature of each cast iron radiator. For smaller radiators in bathrooms and bedrooms you may just want to choose a manual valve however for the larger cast iron radiator emitting a large heat output a thermostatic valve is advisable.

The Paladin collection of cast iron radiator valves also comes in a choice of pipe fittings. All of the ranges are available in 15mm or ½ inch connections for standard modern pipe work however if you have old pipe work measuring 22mm or ¾ inch Paladin offer certain of the valves for the cast iron radiators required to be connected to old larger pipe work.

For safety reasons it is advisable to fit wall stays to each cast iron radiator. Although all the Paladin ranges of cast iron radiators are free standing, wall stays add an extra safety feature, just in case youngsters fall and pull the heavy cast iron radiator or indeed people may sit on them and rock them backwards putting strain on the pipe work attached. A wall stay will add complete stability and make your cast iron radiator a much safer option.
